Remarks – Former Pro Stock Champion Martin Hofer is running a version of Schumacher’s Mi5 with a number of prototype parts which are being evaluated for future release. A new chassis plate with different carbon is stiffer despite being thinner material than previous while new even shorter shocks, now lower than the car’s wheel line, and lower shock towers help lower the car’s centre of gravity. Combined with a new motor block which brings the motor more to the centre line and a new steering system and carbon steering block arms allow the car to be pushed harder without it wanting to flip.

Chassis Focus – Freddy Sudhoff

Remarks – Fast Freddy Sudhoff is running the latest Awesomatix, the A700L Evo, a car which is proving to be very competitive here in the Czech Republic. Featuring a unique anti torque steer system which sees the floating front gearbox assembly, called FFG, mounted to the rear of the car by a long shaft which makes the car much easier to drive having removed this problematic characteristic of shaft drive cars. Freddy is also running a new differential with larger diff gears in the rear, which just arrived at the track prior to the race, and an aluminium chassis plate which is lighter than the stock carbon version but stiffer.

Chassis Focus – Marc Rheinard

Remarks – 3-time World Champion Marc Rheinard is running the all new TRF418 from Tamiya, the successor to the World Championship winning TRF417 chassis. The car is mostly new with a new higher top deck and bulkheads by 1.5mm as well as a new motor mount which sees the motor moved more inward and forward than its predecessor. Other new parts include the wishbones, steering blocks, uprights, ARB mounts and updated steering rack. Having tested the car at the Mibocup here in Hrotovice as well as in France and Slovakia in the past weeks, the car is still having a problem with being able to push the car, it currently understeering as well as grip rolling in the corners, something he believes a softer chassis would fix, but he doesn’t have one available to him.

Chassis Focus – Juho Levanen

Remarks – Juho Levanen is running a pre production version of the all new TC6.2 chassis, which he ran for the first time at the recent IIC race in Vegas. Apart from the wishbones, uprights and steering block assemblies the car is completely new and is now more in line with the current touring car designs on the market with a new steering assembly, floating servo mount, flex over the entire chassis and chassis mounted lower suspension arms. Expected to be released at the end of this year, compared to the previous model it turns in better and can carry more corner speed.
